background: LDHD belongs to the D-isomer specific 2-hydroxyacid dehydrogenase family. D-lactate and D-glycerate dehydrogenase activities have been found in a similar protein in yeast. Alternative splicing occurs at this locus and two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. Subunit: nteracts with CSRP3. Subcellular Location: Mitochondrion Tissue Specificity: Expressed moderately in heart and liver and at lower levels in skeletal muscle and kidney. Similarity: Belongs to the FAD-binding oxidoreductase/transferase type 4 family. Contains 1 FAD-binding PCMH-type domain.
